BlackBerry 9800 Torch The First Hybrid BlackBerry

Research In Motion (RIM) finally announced the official debut of its first hybrid BlackBerry, BlackBerry 9800, which was given the nickname "Torch". Called hybrid because it provides navigation smartphone  with touch screen and a QWERTY smartphone keyboard as well.


For another smartphone manufacturer, type of this product may have been used before. However, this is the first for a BlackBerry. Torch may be the RIM answer for consumers who still have not completely comfortable using the touch screen. During this BlackBerry products are popular because of its convenience is identical with the QWERTY keyboard.


"BlackBerry 9800 Torch is a product of our company is very special," RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis said in a statement on Tuesday (03/08/2010). Apart from being the first hybrid Blackberry smartphone product, Torch is also one of the first smartphone using BlackBerry OS 6 application.


BlackBerry 9800 Torch has specifications 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen, using BlackBerry OS 6, there is a GPS application, it supports HSDPA with download speeds up to 3.6 Mbps. In addition, the BlackBerry 9800 Torch comes with a resolution of 5 MP camera with flash have facial recognition capabilities. Camera can also be used for the video recorder with VGA resolution.


BlackBerry 9800 Torch work using 624 MHz processor and 512 MB of internal memory can be upgraded with up to 4 GB of flash storage. Other features wi-fi connection with the latest 802.11n standard.


This hybrid BlackBerry smartphone will be first available in the U.S. starting on August 12, 2010 and with prices starting at $200 with a 2-year subscription contract.

Cheap BlabkBerry in Saudi Arabia

Following news of the termination of BlackBerry services or BlackBerry applications in all regions of Saudi Arabia starting Friday (8/6), the BlackBerry device begins to go on sale. Some BlackBerry owners and Blackberry seller began to offering belongings cheaply.


In the largest mobile market in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital city, dozens of young men offering BlackBerry devices in the street with half price. One of the owners named Nour al-Zaman said, now no one wants to buy a BlackBerry and people with offering cheaply.


A number of the Blackberry users in Jeddah has reported that the BlackBerry service began to down since Friday morning at around 9:00. In fact, the local newspaper Okaz stated that the new termination will be done at midnight. reportedly from Riyadh, BlackBerry services still active to this day.


The Government of Saudi Arabia, Tuesday, issued orders to the three mobile operators who operate the BlackBerry service to stop BlackBerry service or BlackBerry applications. Arab Governments Stop Blackberry Services

Saudi Arabia government ordered mobile operators to stop the BlackBerry services across their territories. This adds to the tension between Saudi Arabia's and smartphone maker, Research in Motion Ltd. (RIM).


Arab Saudi government demanded greater access to BlackBerry data sent to their server in Canada. The Saudi government news agency, SPA, reported that the country's telecommunications regulator has informed the cellular service providers that they must stop the BlackBerry services starting on Friday (6 August).


Mobile phone regulator, known as the Communications and Information Technology Commission could not immediately be reached for comment on the statement of the SPA to provide detailed about this information.


It is said in the statement of the SPA, the suspension of the BlackBerry service be carried out because the service does not meet the requirements of current regulations. RIM parties also could not be immediately reached for comment.


BlackBerry service ban in Saudi Arabia following several days after neighboring Emirates Arab announced plans to close an electronic mail services, messaging, and Web browsing on the BlackBerrys started in October.


India is also in talks with RIM about how BlackBerry user's information is managed. Like the UAE, which emphasizes security issues in encouraging greater access to information transmitted by mobile phones that are stored in a computer company in Canada.


Saudi Arabia does not describe the concerns about the difficulty of controlling access to government information, although the government is also wary of security threats. Like in the UAE, in Arab Saudi, the Blackberry smartphone is very popular mobile phone that is used by employers and young people using smartphones technologies as a way to avoid attention from the government.


Earlier on Tuesday (3/8), RIM argued that they and India government agree to enhance supervision of the client company. India RIM states comply with the requirements of the regulatory body in terms of security, but also look at the needs of customers for privacy.


Analysts say, RIM expansion into new markets are growing rapidly and a new dispute with the UAE public companies threatened a wave of regulatory challenges. RIM has forced commitment to the security of information against the wishes of local law enforcement.


RIM said, has held talks with more than 175 countries where they operate. Gayakwad did say that the Government of India has another way to solve the security problem if something happens. India and UAE is not alone in wanting more control over the BlackBerry message. Bahrain also has threatened to take strong action on the spread of news using the device.
